Ten new video surveillance cameras located at six strategic access points to Montilla constitute the technological basis of the new smart system for mobility control and citizen security for the Córdoba city council, an environment designed to reinforce the response capacity of the Local Police and optimize traffic management.
The project, entirely funded by the City Council with an investment close to 50.000 euros, has allowed the installation of ten new smart video surveillance cameras and automatic license plate reading distributed across six strategic access points to Montilla: Camachas Avenue, Málaga Avenue, Santa María Avenue, Pío XII Avenue, la calle Aguas y la rotonda de Boucau con avenida de Andalucía.
The head of the Local Police, Francisco Gallego, highlighted that the new video surveillance system represents 'a step forward' in the modernization of the force's resources and explained that the cameras will allow real-time knowledge of traffic conditions, detect incidents more quickly and improve response to accidents.
