Greenhouses with CCTV (IA)

The City Council of El Ejido (Almería) initiates the diagnostic and analysis work of the third phase of its municipal video surveillance system, which will have as its main objective to extend coverage to the agricultural environment of the municipality and strengthen prevention against theft and burglaries on farms.

The action includes the installation of new smart cameras on the main roads and paths that structure the ejido countryside, so that the devices provide an additional tool to the Local Police and the Civil Guard to improve surveillance and facilitate response to possible incidents.

The deployment acquires special relevance in a municipality that has more than 13.500 hectares of greenhouse and in which agricultural activity constitutes one of the main economic engines. The new phase will move part of the video surveillance infrastructure from urban areas to the access points and corridors that connect the different production zones.

A network that already totals 189 cameras

The third phase is added to a system that currently has 189 cámaras inteligentes, capable of generating more than 400 real-time images. The network is deployed at the entrances and exits of urban centers, areas of high traffic and different municipal spaces. Among the existing devices are around 40 license plate reading cameras, intended for controlling access and exit of the different centers. The infrastructure is complemented with cameras installed in public buildings, libraries and beaches.
