Uniview secures the tourist and residential center of Marrakech

To cover all corners of the interior of the buildings and the exteriors of the Avenue M more than 165 Cameras Uniview, including PTZ, Bullet type IP and Prime-I dome, and Omniview multi-client systems.

The Avenue M is the heart of the tourist and residential center of the city of Marrakech. It is an extension of 500 meters in length that runs next to the Four Seasons Resort and connects the Palacio de Congresos del Boulevard Mohamed VI with the Jardines de la Menara. This avenue has access for cars and pedestrians under the palm trees, surrounded by gardens and shops. The video surveillance technology of Uniview has been the option chosen to secure the area and protect people and buildings.

The goal of Avenue M was to equip the Pestana CR7 hotel, residences, offices, health and wellness centres, stores, restaurants, the cafes, the art galleries and the cultural center with a video surveillance solution that allows visitors and customers to have a safe environment to buy, dine and relax.

Taking into account the complicity and the great extension of Avenida M, the security system was a challenge. To respond to the requirements of the project, Uniview provided a solution that combines all types of cameras, to cover very different places, next to the VMS Unicorn.

It was decided to use more than 165 Cameras, including PTZ, IP type bullet and dome Prime-I, multilensing Omniview to adapt and cover all corners of the interior and perimeters of Avenue M.

Secure facilities and streets

To secure all facilities and streets without adding a heavy workload to the surveillance equipment, the panoramic network camera was chosen UNV 4K Starlight Multi-Lens, for its clear and broad vision.

This team has a total of 4 camera lenses inside the device, with each lens added, the surveillance angle is extended and the supervised area is expanded. In addition to the expansion of the surveillance area, 4K features, 120dB WDR, give the 4K Starlight a clearer picture, with less distortion, providing the security team with a seamless surveillance experience.

Prevention and detection

The complexity of the initiatives organized in the area pose a security challenge. There may be times when multiple suspicious activities occur at the same time, making it impossible for security personnel to approach in person. The security system required intelligent functions such as remote management and deterrence.

Uniview's solution includes smart intrusion prevention devices that automatically trigger alarms to deter suspicious activity if someone enters the restricted zone. The alarm will be immediate, more effective than having a security guard walk to and take care of the incident site. In addition, with the ability to distinguish between plants, animals and humans, false alarms are greatly reduced.

With the number of surveillance cameras working simultaneously and the recordings coming in and out on a daily basis, high capacity required for processing and storage.

The Unicorn VMS has the ability to access 2.000 Channels, unified management of cameras and NVRs. Hence, it is considered as the solution, for its storage capacity, video integration and management. Centralized backup makes video stable and more reliable.
