Panasonic i-Pro X Series

Panasonic has announced its new series of i-Pro X IP security cameras with built-in artificial intelligence capabilities. Thanks to its software development kit, this range is designed so that third-party application developments can be tailored to the needs of a professional customer. The range includes six new models of 5 MP and 4K resolution, dome or compact vandal versions, indoors and outdoors.

Panasonic's new cameras allow the installation of up to three video analysis applications, with two i-Pro apps plus the software development kit included for free if purchased before the end of March 2021. The two analytics applications that are already available are AI Video Motion Detection (AI-VMD) and Privacy Masking.

AI-VMD detects anyone, Vehicle, two-wheeled motorcycle or bicycle and can be used for intruder detection, identifying marauders and addresses. Artificial intelligence engine allows alarms to be triggered, based on predefined parameters, with a high level of precision.

The second application is Privacy Masking, that allows you to detect and recognize human figures in a video scene, and pixelating their figures or faces to protect privacy. This app is important for many companies operating in geographic areas where very strict privacy laws are in place, such as in Europe with gdpr.

It can be used to protect the identity of employees, customers and visitors from a wide range of industrial sectors.

The new i-Pro X series employs an artificial intelligence engine with integrated analysis that detects suspicious changes in scenes, automatically adjusts the image settings of the scene being analyzed and optimizes video compression to preserve network bandwidth and server storage capabilities.

"The new range of cameras, with your open software development kit, offers interesting opportunities that allow a large number of next-generation artificial intelligence applications to be tailored to the specific needs of professional customers. Our partners are already developing a whole range of innovative applications. The advantages of using these new camera analytics apps are very numerous and range from improving security to making changes in the post-Covid world", comments Gerard Figols, European head of Panasonic's commercial security department.
