ThruLink optimizes video signal over a secure wireless link in a European port

The KBC Networks router provides a mobile surveillance system, that complements the fixed camera system, to protect a port facility.

In port areas, the likelihood of thefts, accidents, and alarms increases during the night and on weekends, when activity is lower, so security and the installation of a secure and mobile surveillance system that enhances the fixed camera system becomes a priority, as has happened in a European port.

Specifically, and for this mobile system to function properly, its managers needed a secure and high-quality system for live video transmission from the port and via the Internet to a patrol vehicle, desde el cual se enviaba de nuevo esta transmisión a la oficina del puerto utilizando un canal de 250 kbps.

The high-quality video is recorded locally in the vehicle and sent to the monitoring room, where an operator can locate the vehicle within a radius of 26 km²and take action if necessary. With ThruLink the channel remains secure even when data is transmitted over a public network.
