Located in the English town of Wiltshire, Stonehenge is one of the most fascinating and fabulous megalithic monuments in the world, formed by large sandstones, weighing up to 25 tons that were recently identified to come from the woods of West Woods, to some 30 Km. north of the monument, currently temporarily closed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This important resort, considered one of the wonders of the world, needed a sophisticated high-end perimeter detection and security system, both to avoid possible vandalism and to help its perfect conservation.

blankThe specialist Wessex Fire and Security was the company to manage this project to provide, install and order fire and safety systems for Stonehenge, consisting of three buildings: the new visitor center and main facility, an auxiliary building for plant management, vehicles and machinery, and a checkpoint or security post (which was the old visitor center).

To meet the security requirements of this historic site, Wessex Fire and Security worked closely with manufacturer GJD to design, produce and install Stonehenge's new security system, and its new visitor center.

blankChoosing GJD Clarius infrared illuminators, brand that markets ProdexTec in Spain and Portugal, met an important requirement for the project, process verification is done through a video analysis system, and it was necessary to separate the cameras from infrared sources to minimize the attraction of insects to the devices.

After studying and evaluating different market alternatives, the ideal choice in terms of quality and reliability for this project were Clarius infrared illuminators, as they work in conjunction with security cameras (day/night) distributed throughout the enclosure, providing an invisible light to the human eye, but completely visible to CCTV devices.
