BBVA incorporates Samsung biometric authentication technology for mobile banking

With this solution, it becomes the first bank with access to its mobile app through the iris scanner of this manufacturer, so that the clients of this financial institution can check and view their accounts easily and securely.

Samsung y BBVA they have presented the iris biometric recognition service, which allows clients with a compatible smartphone from this manufacturer to access the bank's mobile banking app. This technology verifies the user's identity and gives them access to their accounts, guaranteeing maximum security and eliminating the need to remember login and complex passwords.

As explained by Raúl Navarrete, head of mobile channel at BBVA Spain, The bank aims for its clients to have a fast and simple experience in their navigation, and iris recognition not only allows a convenient and swift access to the app, but also offers an unmatched level of cybersecurity.

The Samsung Pass identity management solution, based on Fido technology (Fast Identity Online), frees the user from having to enter identifiers, passwords, or unlock patterns to log in, with protection through biometric authentication (fingerprint and iris scanning) a través del móvil.

The iris scanning technology integrated into the Samsung Pass identity verification solution is also one of the most secure biometric authentication methods, since the patterns of each iris are the most unmistakable password, and one of the simplest and safest ways to keep the smartphone locked and protected against unwanted use.

Biometric credentials are stored on the device using the Samsung Knox security platform, which keeps that information in the phone's TrustZone, a secure area based on the device's hardware. Since Samsung monitors the device in real time, it is able to detect if there is any vulnerability and, if so, access to the biometric credentials is blocked.
