La Palma Smart Island Hikvision

As part of the project La Palma Smart Island of this Canary Island Territory, Hikvision It has provided high-precision thermal cameras to support firefighting, along with emergency management and traffic control devices.

The expertise in security technology and AIoT services from Hikvision have been highlighted in the project La Palma Smart Island, initiative of the Island Council of this Canary Island for the most efficient management of resources, services and infrastructures that create spaces for interaction between citizens, Companies and Administrations.

Specifically,, Hikvision has brought its most accurate technology and support to the Active Wildfire Monitoring, as well as any other type of incident that may occur within the limits of the island territory of La Palma.

The orography of this island, Its vegetation or phenomena such as the spectacular 'sea of clouds' add special difficulties in measuring temperature, Definition and placement of the necessary devices for the detection of emergency situations.

All this has made it necessary to include a technology that adapts to the specific needs of the island – also in aspects such as traffic management, with a state-of-the-art technological solution that covers even the trails-, that can be integrated, as well as uniting infrared and natural vision in a synchronized way.

To respond to these needs, the project has relied on Hikvision's solutions for video surveillance with Artificial Intelligence Technology, which offers the possibility of observing activities such as cycling and hiking, Fundamental aspects within the objective to be met.

The technology provided by Hikvision consists of a Optical and thermal-capable camera which incorporates a IoT node that integrates a control solution, Data storage and rule generation locally. In this way, In the event of disconnection with the server, does not interfere with the operation of the system.

The camera, In your 360º rotation and vertically, It makes it easy to observe the state of the ground at all times, both optically and thermally. The double image of each of the zones allows you to see pixel by pixel the temperature of the image capture at a distance of up to 7 Kilometers.

From the sequence of images captured, the entire area monitored by the camera is recomposed, both from the nearby areas and the deeper ones. The integration of Hikvision's solutions with the company's software Integral Building Automation Allows you to obtain different sequences based on height, as well as a maximum definition for each of those boxes or frames.

"The opportunity to participate in this project arises as a result of our excellent relationship with the integrator Inmotica Integral, with whom we have worked and developed Smart City projects, Traffic Systems, audio-visual and, especially, for the great technical capacity it has through its team of developers and programmers, which makes it possible for us to offer a turnkey system for the end customer", Explains Pepe Rubio, key account manager Levante, Balearic Islands and Canary Islands at Hikvision Iberia.

The implementation of the project has a Two-year term and goes beyond hardware deployment and commissioning, that will allow you to start visualizing, Analyze and have in the dashboards all the information that facilitates decision-making.

At the same time, Work is being done in the future to improve and implement solutions aimed at meeting the needs of services for residents and tourists, Social integration, the improvement of the quality of life and the sustainable development of La Palma.
