Scati protects Paraguay's main supermarket chain
With the aim of protecting its workers and customers and offering a better shopping experience, the chain has installed cameras with facial recognition, whose images are processed by Reckon software and Scati are stored on their Vision N400 servers.
The main chain of neighborhood supermarkets in Paraguay has more than 2.000 empleados y 150 locations situated in strategic points of Asunción and Greater Asunción, to offer a wide variety of products, at very competitive prices and under the format 24/7.
With this business vision, its main objective focuses on the protection of every one of its stores through the identification of the most frequent thieves who roam the entrance, and thus restrict their entry and reduce thefts.
For this, those responsible have opted to deploy a centralized alert system, as well as install at the entrances to each of the stores cámaras de reconocimiento facial which offer images with an image resolution of until 4 MP and under any lighting condition, thanks to the incorporation of infrared for a distance of up to 60 metros.
The new security system allows to create white and black lists, update and manage the databases centrally, in addition to integrating directly with the point of sale terminals (POS) of each store.
Upon identification of a habitual thief, the security managers receive an automatic alarm with the associated image or video.
The supermarket chain has managed to avoid thefts carried out by habitual thieves almost entirely 100%.
To Javier Larrodé, branch manager of Scati Brazil, This project makes the supermarket chain offer a good shopping experience to its customers and ensures that it is completely safe. Besides, It represents the positioning of our technology as a benchmark in the retail sector of Paraguay.
