The Nedap Transit solution has been implemented in the facilities of Norway Post. Employees use your ID card both for entering the logistic areas of distribution centers with their vehicles and offices to access. The result is a safe and fast flow in all the terminals of the Nordic company.
With almost 20.000 staff, Norway Post operates under two brands, Posten and bring, developing and offering integrated solutions for postal mail, communications and logistics in Norway services. The Nordic company has with 1.400 points of sale throughout the country through the post offices traditional and different points of sale located in environments such as supermarkets.
The implementation of the access control solution of Nedap started in 2008 in Robsrud, where is handled more than the 60% all mail from Norway. Today has been installed in most of Norway post terminals. Ease of integration allowed the extension to the infrastructure of all the terminals in the country, in strategic places like Stavanger, Drammen, Frederikstad, Bergen, Mould, Trondheim and Oslo.
The latter is the most recent, an area which handle up to 150.000 packages and is about 1.000 daily shipments. The flow of vehicles at the gates of the terminals is required for the optimization and security. The identification of long-range Nedap Transit system provides control of fast and secure access for vehicles entering and leaving the Terminal based on the existing credentials from the employees of Norway Post.

The implemented solution consists of the Transit Standard System, a RFID reader's powerful with a reading distance of up to 10 meters, that it has been implemented in most of the terminals of sorting plants; and transponder identification Booster that contains not only a unique vehicle identification number, but it also reads the inserted personal driver ID card.
With the system Booster aboard cars and trucks, both the vehicle and the driver are identified simultaneously. This solution supports all common interfaces and transfers data to any access control panel securely.
