Proteger una gran diversidad de edificios dispersos en diferentes localizaciones, reduce theft and vandalism, and integrate the new systems with the existing ones are the challenges that Eureka Soft had to overcome & Hardware to implement the new security solution at the Polytechnic University of Poznan with Sony technology.

The Polytechnic University of Poznan (Polonia), which hosts more than a thousand professors and exceeds the 21 000 estudiantes, is considered one of the best technical faculties in the country. It consists of historical buildings supervised by the Historical Conservation Officer, as well as others of more recent construction, spread across several districts of the city.

This faculty required a security solution that maintained its functionality, in the wide variety of locations and facilities, and would respect the architectural aesthetics. Eureka Soft & Hardware was the company responsible for carrying out this project, which involved the implementation of one of the largest systems of its kind in Europe.

The biggest challenge we had to overcome was the quantity and diversity of the existing buildings. The system had to connect equipment in different districts of Poznan that are very far from each other. Today, the university has a modern, upgradable system integrated with the Siemens MM8000 system, says Andrzej Lipecki from Eureka Soft & Hardware.

Challenges posed:

  • Video surveillance for most of the university's facilities
  • Reduction of damage as a result of theft and vandalism
  • More efficient security personnel
  • Improvement of protection for university employees and students
  • Integrate cameras and recorders with software from other brands

The investment required a system that is flexible and easy to install and manage in multiple locations, as well as allowing its use in almost any situation. Eureka Soft & Hardware opted for IP camera technology from Sony since it offered the reliability, versatility and ease of use that the university needed.

In addition to meeting the requirements for high-quality images, Sony's IP cameras also offer DEPA functions (Distributed Enhanced Processing Architecture) for intelligent image analysis. With these features, The university can define events detected directly by the camera and generate alarms based on these events.

Sony's Full HD SNC-EM632R cameras were among those chosen for use in the university's facilities. The camera's built-in infrared illuminator allows video surveillance during both day and night, and its vandal-proof housing makes it resistant to water and dust, an ideal solution for both indoor and outdoor surveillance applications.

The device is equipped with analytics that automatically detect incidents such as 'crossing the line', a kind of virtual barrier, and Sony's new image processor.

  • 11 estaciones Supervision
  • A dedicated ICT infrastructure for the system
  • Sony RealShot Manager Advanced
  • Scalable Management Software: advanced client for monitoring stations that runs on Internet Explorer
