FLIR Systems, specialist in the design and manufacture of thermal imaging cameras for a wide variety of applications, ha entrado de lleno en el mercado de videovigilancia para gestión de tráfico con la adquisición de la empresa belga Traffic, developer of video image processing software and hardware for traffic analysis. Traffic produces intelligent technology that makes traffic safer and more efficient through solutions for automatic incident detection, the collection of traffic data and the detection of vehicle crossings and pedestrians.
Through this integration, FLIR Systems expects to increase the pace of adoption of FLIR technology in the growing market for video-based traffic control solutions worldwide. Other than that, Traficon's video analysis capabilities will be included in flir's other imaging business lines.
Earl Lewis, FLIR President and CEO, Said: “We have shown that thermography is a superior solution for controlling traffic. This acquisition will accelerate the adoption of FLIR technology in an expanding market for video-based traffic control solutions as we begin using Traficon's robust distribution network. In addition, Traficon's video analysis capabilities will be integrated into our other imaging lines offering enhanced functionality and the development of new applications.”
For its part, Lode Caenepeel, CEO of Traficon, has targeted: "Traficon and FLIR Systems have been working on joint projects for more than a year now., combining Traficon's video detection algorithms with FLIR thermal imaging technology.
