Panasonic and Ueno Zoo offer live images of the life of pandas
Ueno Zoo, located in the heart of Tokyo (Japan), offers live images of the two giant pandas that live in the zoo through the Panasonic WV-SW314 network cameras.
The giant panda is one of the most popular animals at Tokyo's Ueno Zoo (Japan), but it is also one of the rarest, so in order to give people all over the world the opportunity to see these adorable animals, Panasonic and Japan's oldest zoo have joined forces to broadcast live images of pandas over the Internet in the 'Ueno Panda Live JP' project.
The project uses the new Panasonic WV-SW314 network cameras installed in the zoo's panda house. These network cameras were originally installed to help zookeepers observe and care for Lili and Shinshin, the two giant pandas at Ueno Zoo, but in order to give people around the world the opportunity to see and learn more about these animals and develop and improve understanding of their biology, It has been decided to transmit the image of the network cameras live over the Internet through the special website Ueno Panda Live JP.
The project also aims to highlight this interesting application of Panasonic network cameras, which until now have been used mainly for security and surveillance, but now they will be used for a much wider variety of applications. On the website, You can enjoy watching the live broadcast of Lili and Shinshin's life through the network cameras installed in the zoo's panda house between the 9:30 and the 17:00 hours (except mondays, when the zoo is closed) on PCs and mobile devices. A total of 8 Different network cameras have been installed throughout the panda house, so that Internet users can enjoy seeing these adorable animals from various positions and angles.
These network cameras are capable of correcting the brightness of the object image, which helps create a natural image, even in areas with a large difference in illuminance level. They are also equipped with a horizontal wide-angle lens of 100 degrees allowing you to cover a large area with a single network camera, and bread functions / tilt / zoom allows the camera to follow the movements of the pandas. With 'Uniphier System LSI' technology’ de Panasonic, These network cameras offer the daily life of giant pandas in high quality.
