Samsung Techwin has announced that its network cameras have been integrated with the video management system (Vms) of Mirasys, Helsinki-based company (Finland) that develops and supplies the software that helps organizations manage the information obtained through digital video capture, from CCTV cameras.

The software, which is based on an open architecture and supports the H.264 compression method, can work on hundreds of servers and an unlimited number of fixed and mobile workstations, through a browser.

Tim Biddulph, IP Product Manager at Samsung Techwin Europe, Said: “As a single provider that offers solutions for analog video surveillance systems, hybrid and IP networking, Samsung has an obligation to offer our customers the flexibility to choose the perfect combination in security products that meet their specific needs. That's why, we want to help customers find a gradual transition from their current video surveillance solution to another one hundred percent IP. Our integration with Mirasys is part of an ongoing program to integrate with leading independent software vendors, that can offer software “open” and specifically designed to facilitate the integration of equipment and systems from different manufacturers”.

VMS for IP and analog cameras

Mirasys and Samsung technical teams have worked together to offer a high level of integration and ensure that users of Mirasys video management software can control several of the features of Samsung network cameras, including automatic camera detection, PTZ control, bidirectional sound, alarm input/output, motion detection, Infrared LEDs, on/off control, and time synchronization, that allow a server to automatically synchronize the camera with the system time.
