The 568 buses from metrobus's six lines in the country's capital already have the management system, control and security of the Spanish technology multinational to monitor in real time any incident that may occur both inside and outside the 160 stations that make up this transport network.

Indra Metrobus Mexico City

Mexico City's Metrobus network project entrusted to Indra, that started in the year 2013, to deploy the Exploitation Aid System (Sae) and make it easier to manage, control and safety of 568 buses running on its six lines along the Bus Rapid Transit lanes (Brt) of the city, has been successfully completed with significant efficiency improvements, safety and quality of service for 1,2 millions of users who use it every day.

Specifically,, Indra's SAE facilitates control of programming subsystems, Regulation, video surveillance inside buses, as well as information systems for the traveller on board and in the 160 stations that make up the network through 346 TFT digital information panels and near 2.000 surveillance cameras (embarked and installed at the stations), with a ten-year maintenance contract.

Indra Metrobus Mexico CityIndra has implemented this project at the Intelligent Transportation Information Center (Citi), from which "room operators view 24×7 location, route and speed of each of the units in real time through a video wall or its workstations, from which they can also interact directly with bus operators", explains Maria Teresa Safón, Director of Transportation at Indra in Mexico.

Thanks to the management team, GPS control and location on board buses, called Nauta, and mobile communications infrastructure, with GPRS technology, WiFi and 3G, from this center the location of each bus in the fleet is constantly monitored, so that in case of any incident in the service a quick and efficient decision-making is made in real time.

In addition, this solution allows you to generate reports and graphs to optimize the quality of service offered, improve productivity and respond efficiently to the needs that are demanded, resulting in cost reduction and better operation.

The safety of passengers and the fleet is based on the 1.220 video surveillance cameras and in the aforementioned Nauta system. Each bus has three cameras installed on board, to which is added one located in front of the bus to show the route made by the driver and thus have full control of the outside if an incident occurs, Collision, Etc.
