Facial recognition and license plate reading systems for hospital centers

With the aim of identifying their patients upon arrival and offering them safe and differential treatment, one of the most important hospitals in Mexico has invested in the technology of the Spanish company Scati.

Considered one of the best hospitals in Mexico for its advanced healthcare service and facilities, one of the elements that has contributed to this has been the investment in technology to offer innovative and differential treatment to its patients, guaranteeing their protection and safety.

Specifically, the hospital management has invested in facial recognition and license plate reading systems from the Spanish company Scati, in order to identify their patients upon arrival at the hospital, as well as protecting the main entrances (entries, elevators, confined spaces, operating rooms, administrative offices, etc.).

Every time someone accesses the facilities of this hospital in Mexico, the video systems detect them, send an alarm and compare the image with the database stored on the video recorder, automatically activating the corresponding action protocol.

The facial recognition system allows maintaining security in the facility, as well as helping those responsible in order to offer more exclusive care to their clients, improving the experience when they visit the center.

Facial recognition analytics is carried out through a Deeplearning series video recorder from Scati Fenix. This platform is capable of storing images from up to 64 IP cameras and performing facial recognition of up to 24 devices simultaneously.

Apoyando al área de seguridad del centro hospitalario, el sistema cuenta con la opción de búsqueda de rostros en los vídeos grabados, lo que facilita la trazabilidad de cualquier persona que accede al centro, identificando a aquellas que son sospechosas de haber cometido un delito.

For this, las cámaras de reconocimiento facial están ubicadas estratégicamente en el interior de los edificios para capturar los rostros de todas las personas que ingresan a las diferentes áreas del complejo, generando una base de datos de miles de usuarios.

El sistema se alimenta continuamente de datos, lo que facilita la generación de informes para clasificar la afluencia de personas en función del género, edad o lista en un intervalo de tiempo, lo que permite que el hospital disponga de una herramienta de mejora continua en la atención al cliente.

La seguridad del centro se complementa con la instalación de seis discretos minidomos IP de alta resolución, que captan imágenes nítidas incluso en condiciones de baja iluminación gracias a la integración de infrarrojos que cubren hasta 10 meters away.

Las cámaras de lectura de matrículas desplegadas en los accesos al aparcamiento son el complemento idóneo para identificar la trayectoria y, en caso de que suceda algún incidente, the malicious operations of users.

For this, as pointed out by Scati, it is vital to keep the blacklists updated, both of facial recognition and license plate reading to carry out the corresponding action plan: quality control, improve the experience of VIP users or, simply, to deter the recurrence or intention of committing any type of illicit act inside the healthcare complex.
