Scati protects one of Egypt's largest oil complexes

The detection of thefts in warehouses and pipeline areas highlighted the urgency of implementing a robust video surveillance system that ensured operational security, protected assets, and allowed effective real-time access control.
Comprehensive solution
Scati has designed a comprehensive solution, adaptada a las condiciones ambientales extremas del entorno y a la naturaleza crítica de la instalación. More than 250 IP cameras, including thermal cameras, anti-corrosion models and long-range PTZ cameras, strategically distributed both on land and at sea.
Las anti-corrosion cameras, designed to withstand the saline moisture of the environment, have been placed in highly exposed areas, while the thermal cameras, capable of detecting human presence or unusual activity even in low-visibility conditions, have been assigned to monitoring the marine environment.
To cover more than 12 kilometers of perimeter fences in land areas, have been used motorized PTZ dome cameras with automatic tracking, that perform virtual patrols and allow operators to anticipate possible intrusions.
The solution also includes a License Plate Recognition system (LPR) installed at the main entrance of the complex. This solution allows automatic identification of authorized personnel vehicles, to record entry and exit times, and to generate alerts for unauthorized access, thus reinforcing the ground control of the site.
The images generated by all devices are stored in Scati Vision recorders, with high availability systems and redundancy against power failures or disconnections. Toda la gestión se realiza desde un centro de control centralizado, donde operadores acceden a una interfaz unificada que combina vídeo, mapas del sitio y alertas automáticas, garantizando la continuidad operativa y la disponibilidad del sistema ante cualquier eventualidad.
Besides, el sistema incluye analítica avanzada para la detección de eventos, lo que permite responder de forma proactiva ante incidentes, minimizar tiempos de reacción y mejorar la toma de decisiones en tiempo real.
La implementación de esta solución ha permitido reducir los incidentes de seguridad relacionados con intrusiones y robos. La vigilancia unificada de zonas terrestres, marinas y aéreas ha optimizado los recursos de seguridad sin incrementar costes operativos.
