Axis incorporates network radar technology into its catalog with the D2050-VE detector

Axis Communications has added network radar technology to its catalog with the D2050-VE detector. Radar technology is used to accurately and reliably detect moving objects in different light and weather conditions. It is a good complement for video surveillance cameras and offers the function of tracking moving objects with PTZ cameras.

The radar also allows to cover a wide area, while thermal cameras are more suitable for the protection of long perimeters. This product, developed mainly for medium-sized industrial installations, is designed to be integrated into cameras and video surveillance systems.

Axis D2050-VE is vandal resistant and suitable for outdoor use, and can also provide real-time information about the position, speed, the angle and size of a moving object.

With a wider range than passive infrared sensors, covers a wide field of detection while minimizing spider-triggered false alarms, small animals, moving shadows and light reflections.

The radar motion detector can be set to activate camera recording, a speaker with an acoustic warning or a light in order to deter and improve the visual confirmation capacity of the cameras.

Axis network radar detector can be used as a stand-alone product or as part of a surveillance system. Thanks to its open interface, is compatible with the manufacturer's cameras and can be integrated with Camera Station and Camera Management software, as well as with other video management systems, for easy control and maintenance.
