In the initial deployment, 98 Quasar cameras 5 MP from Flir to offer coverage to a park of more 145.000 square meters. Today the facility has been expanded to other areas of the city and the infrastructure has 400 HD cameras, linked through Horizon NVRs, which are managed by the Latitude VMS.

Flir Port ST. Lucie

North of Miami (Florida – California) Port St is located. Lucie, a city that has developed rapidly in recent years until today with a population of more than 170.000 residents.

With that growth, Port St. Lucie was facing new security and citizen protection challenges so she decided, by the company SecurPoint, install a wireless video surveillance system based on IP technology Flir.

The project began in one of the largest parks in the city with the objective of continuing to expand the deployment to other areas depending on the results obtained.. For this reason, it was designed with a perspective of future expansion in mind., that allowed it to be scaled quickly and easily.

Flir Port ST. LucieThe park chosen to start the deployment was Whispering Pines Park, given its size 145.686 square meters as well as having numerous facilities, including a baseball field and a soccer field., tennis courts, children's games, as well as open spaces, parking and common access.

SecurPoint worked with Flir to create an integrated solution for 98 Quasar cameras 5 MP that incorporate the function for capturing infrared images so that it would allow security personnel to identify potentially problematic activities in the park at night and when heavy rain occurs., something that is very common along the Florida coast.

They set up on the soccer field, on poles using high-speed wireless networks, 25 cameras that allow you to control both the playing surface and the stands. These devices are controlled by a centralized Flir Horizon network video recording system..

“The high-speed wireless network allowed us to place the cameras virtually anywhere, without being limited by wiring or nearby structures. I am surprised by the number of cameras and the quality of the images that we can manage from a single centralized server”, explica Brian Morell, CEO of SecurPoint.

Given the excellent results obtained in this area, it was decided to expand the infrastructure and take it to other parks.. It currently has a security park made up of 400 high definition cameras, all of them connected through Horizon NVRs and a video management system (VMS – Video Management System) Latitude centralized.
