Siemens secures the first building built by a 3D printer

La ‘Office of the Future’ albergará la sede de la Dubai Future Foundation en un edificio de 250 metros cuadrados que ha sido dotado de los sistemas de control de accesos y videovigilancia de Siemens.

El primer edificio producido por una impresora 3D acaba de ser inaugurado en Dubai, cerca de las Torres Emirates. Se trata de las oficinas que albergarán la sede de la Dubai Future Foundation y que cuentan con 250 metros cuadros de ‘Office of the Future’. Para su realización se una utilizado un equipo que mide aproximadamente 6 metros de alto, 36 de largo y 12 de ancho.

Siemens también ha participado en este proyecto proporcionando los sistemas de control de accesos y videovigilancia, that are integrated into a centralized management platform.

The key components of the 'Office of the Future' operate together thanks to the integrated building management platform Desigo CC. The platform allows for the control and optimization of the building infrastructure, integrated by video surveillance systems, HVAC and access control from a single central workstation. Desigo CC shows the status of the different systems in real time, allowing operators precise monitoring and control of building performance.

The concept of 'Office of the Future' uses a Siemens video surveillance system with high-definition cameras, which can be accessed via apps and web, and an access control system based on biometrics and smart cards.

Siemens has also supplied the fire protection systems, whose scope includes detection, alarms, and control, including multisensor detectors that can adapt to changing environments, as well as determining false alarm signals and protecting against the presence of carbon monoxide. The system can be operated remotely for more efficient maintenance.
