In Kuwait City, Indra is going to implement a traffic monitoring system integrated by 200 sensors and different technologies that allow the detection of vehicles such as radar and toll systems, loops and camcorders.

Kuwait Municipality has awarded to Indra the installation of a traffic monitoring system that will allow collection, try, analyse and present data to facilitate mobility management in the Kuwaiti capital.

This project, which will have a budget of 16,3 millions of euros, collects the implementation of more than 200 permanent traffic sensors, as well as the integration of different technologies that allow the detection of vehicles such as radar systems, loops, camcorders and toll systems.

The aim is to be able to collect and incorporate information from some 3.000 locations of the city in the new monitoring system to be able to treat and analyze it.

These systems will be communicated with the Kuwait Traffic Data Centre, that thanks to an advanced traffic data management system, also implemented by Indra, will put them, turn, at the disposal of the different public bodies responsible for traffic and mobility in the city as maintenance teams, emergency services, Police, Etc. Information will also be provided to citizens to help them choose their routes.

By providing information to all actors involved in mobility and facilitating decision-making, Indra's technology will contribute to improving mobility management in the city, increasing safety and operability both in day-to-day management and in emergency situations.

This contract strengthens Indra's position in the Middle East and represents a new step for the company in Kuwait, a country with planned investments of 100.000 millions of dollars in its Infrastructure Development Plan, which includes road projects, Ports, the rail network that will connect with other Gulf countries and the Kuwait Metro. Indra has already equipped Kuwait City airport with its air traffic management technology.
