Intel Security presents its True Key biometric solution for password management at MWC 2015
Intel Security announced at MWC 2015 that your True Key solution, for password management and biometric technology, will be included in mobile devices from the manufacturer Prestigio and will be available to Deutsche Telekom customers in EMEA.
The mobile device manufacturer Prestige has announced in MWC 2015 in Barcelona that will adopt the security solution True Key of Intel Security not EMEA, A multi-device app that eliminates the tedious task of remembering passwords, of which it has already carried out pre-installations in Russia, and will now be available on all Android tablets and smartphones at the end of this year.
Passwords become a problem as users have more mobile devices around them. Taking into account the complexity of passwords and the different users that are created to access applications, It is reasonable to think that there are problems remembering them all, especially if we consider that each user has on average twenty-five online accounts and ten different passwords.
According to Marek Horyl, Managing Director and Head of Prestigio EMEA Operations, “Our clients want to manage their digital lives on different mobile devices, whether on a tablet or smartphone, and True Key offers an easier and more secure way to do it. People often feel overwhelmed by the thought of having to create and remember complex passwords.. “This innovative technology allows users to fully enjoy their digital experience on any of their devices.”.
True Key technology, of which Intel Security is making demos at MWC (pavilion 3 – stand D30), allows access to websites, apps and devices using unique and personal information, such as facial features or fingerprints. The biometric technology used in this application not only eliminates the task of remembering complex passwords, but also allows users to customize their security levels using multiple factors, that the older they are, The more protected is the profile that has been created with True Key.
Data is locally encrypted with AES-256, one of the most robust levels currently available on the market, and never leave the user's device unless they are previously encrypted and with access restricted to them or those they authorize. Besides, Intel Security cannot access or share data stored in this application.
For Francisco Sancho, responsible for the consumption and mobility area at Intel Security Spain, “use the same easy password over and over again, or writing it down on paper are some of the most common habits when managing passwords, which is a serious mistake that compromises our security. True Key is a simple and secure solution for managing passwords. The app allows the user to take control and configure it with multiple factors, so it becomes your own password.”.
This app also gives users the confidence of knowing that no matter which Prestigio device they use, since all of them are protected and it is only he who has control of access to his content and applications, or to persons authorized. Currently available in a limited version, the complete one will be at the end of this year.
Agreement with Deutsche Telekom
Also within the framework of the MWC in Barcelona, Intel Security has announced an agreement with Deutsche Telekom to offer its True Key identity and password management solution to customers of this telecommunications company.
As Marc Sommer has pointed out, vp. senior group business development at Deutsche Telekom, “We know that using multiple factors, including biometrics, It is a solution to the tedious task of remembering a lot of passwords, but Intel Security's True Key app goes further. Gives users complete control, since they can even customize the security levels of their devices”.
