Dolby Theater shielded its security with Axis IP cameras for the Oscars ceremony

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has once again relied, for the third consecutive year, on the PTZ and HDTV network cameras from the Swedish IP security manufacturer Axis Communications, to ensure security during the 87th Academy Awards, held this past weekend, both in the surroundings and inside the Dolby Theater.

With security at the highest level, the 87th Academy Awards ceremony took place this past 22 February without incidents, focusing the attention on its very reason for being: actors and films nominated and awarded at the global cinema gala.

Previously, and for the third consecutive year, the LAPD secured the surroundings and the interior of the Dolby Theater in strategic locations, incluyendo la mediática alfombra roja, con cámaras de seguridad en red del fabricante Axis Communications para que los premios de la Academia de Hollywood fueran todo un éxito.

Para este proyecto temporal, LAPD seleccionó sistemas HDTV y PTZ con amplias funcionalidades para operar con un amplio rango dinámico de iluminación (WDR) y ofrecer una amplio ángulo de cobertura en zonas de mayor riesgo, configuradas con alimentación a través de Ethernet, conectividad y almacenamiento en tarjeta SD para que los agentes sobre el terreno pudieran retransmitir cualquier actividad sospechosa al centro de control de LAPD y visualizar y resolver rápidamente cualquier incidencia.

Las cámaras IP de este fabricante seleccionadas para la ocasión corresponden a los modelos Q6035-E y domos P5534-E, con tecnología PTZ y HDTV, que integran el software Camera Companion de la compañía para seleccionara, controlar y visualizar todas las cámaras en los monitores de 70 pulgadas del centro de control.

Los dispositivos instalados en el exterior del recinto estaban conectados a un nodo de malla inalámbrica, ubicado en el interior de un recinto hermético construido a medida para la ocasión y protegido contra las inclemencias atmosféricas, ya que se trata de un proyecto temporal que requierew de una tecnología rápida de implementar, como la inalámbrica, y con la que desde el centro de mando se pueda interactuar.
