Axis improves the processing capabilities and light sensitivity of the entire AXIS P13 fixed camera series

The provider of IP video solutions for professional installations, Axis Communications, has expanded its line of fixed network cameras in the AXIS P13 series with eight new models that incorporate Lightfinder technology, which considerably improves light sensitivity, image quality and processing capabilities.

Axis Communications has recently announced new models that complement the AXIS P13 fixed IP camera series. By incorporating the latest technological advances, including Lightfinder technology, these cameras provide improvements in image quality, as well as greater processing capabilities. The new models, available in indoor and outdoor versions, they are intended for installation in city surveillance systems, in transportation and logistics systems, in commercial establishments, educational institutions and in banking, inter alia.

Eloina Weijl, Marketing Manager of Axis Communications Iberia, he stated: By incorporating advanced technologies from the AXIS Q16 Series into the new models of the AXIS P13 Series, we improve image quality. Besides, By keeping the same lens mount and the same exterior appearance as the previous models of this Series, customers can easily upgrade or add new cameras to an existing installation.

The newly announced models are the AXIS P1353 /-E network cameras, the AXIS P1354 /-E, the AXIS P1355 /-E and the AXIS P1357 /-E, the latter with 5 resolution megapixels (the models ending in –E are the ones prepared for outdoor use). All these new models support Wide Dynamic Range (dynamic contrast) e incluyen funcionalidad día/noche con un filtro de infrarrojos que se retira automáticamente. Incorporan características de facilidad de instalación como el enfoque remoto, que permite un ajuste fino del enfoque desde un ordenador. Estas nuevas cámaras ofrecen mayor capacidad de procesamiento por lo que consiguen mejor rendimiento en el procesamiento de imágenes. Además han sido equipadas con un puerto serie para poder montarlas en posicionadores de movimiento horizontal y vertical, lo que permite a los operadores a cambiar de forma remota la dirección de la cámara.

Mejor rendimiento con iluminación escasa

La serie de cámaras IP AXIS P13 está formada por 12 modelos de cámara diferentes con una resolución que va desde SVGA hasta 5 megapixels. “Hasta hace poco uno de los principales inconvenientes al uso de cámaras multi megapíxel era su bajo rendimiento en condiciones de poca luz. Gracias a la nueva tecnología Lightfinder, el rendimiento ha mejorado considerablemente. Las nuevas cámaras de la serie AXIS P13 pueden cubrir un área grande con un nivel de detalle excepcional y la mejor sensibilidad a la luz en su clase”, added Weijl.

Las nuevas AXIS P13 ofrecen grandes capacidades para la instalación de aplicaciones de analítica de vídeo embebidas a través de la Plataforma de Aplicaciones para Cámaras de Axis (ACAP). Además ofrecen audio bidireccional y una ranura para tarjetas microSDHC, que permite guardar las grabaciones de varios días de manera local en una tarjeta de memoria. By using this local storage capability together with the free AXIS Camera Companion software, users have the possibility to remotely view and manage video from up to 16 cameras per site.

The new models of the AXIS P13 also support Axis Camera Station video management software and also software from other manufacturers through the Application Development Partner Program. These cameras also support hosted video capabilities (AXIS Video Hosting System) and ONVIF for easy system integration.
