Miami has been the venue chosen to host the security directors of more than two hundred financial institutions at the Banking Security Congress – CELAES 2012, a few days in which, under the title 'How to turn risks into business opportunities', hundreds of banking leaders from 30 countries of our hemisphere in banking operation, Security, Regulators, fraud detection units and information technology areas have shared their knowledge at formal conferences and workshops, in addition to technological presentations. Some of the topics discussed during the conference covered various topics including security in customer data, identity theft, computer crime, security issues on social media, physical security, fraud and the growing threat of organised crime.

The Spanish company Scati announced at this event its comprehensive security solutions for financial institutions. Among the novelties, solutions for the verification of alarms by video in branches were presented, integration with key elements such as intrusion, electronic locks and energy saving systems in bank offices. In addition, real cases of the new CCTV systems integrated in ATM's with the possibility of integration with the data frame of the operations for the fight against fraud were shown., skimming, etc... implemented in countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Peru.

Smart solutions for unique facilities and corporate buildings of financial institutions was another of the innovative proposals, where the IP CCTV, the integration with different elements of physical security of the building and the real-time prevention of possible incidents in it have been the key to success in corporate buildings of Latin American financial institutions.
