Surveillance in open outdoor spaces presents particular challenges: you need cameras that can cover wide areas and you need to take into account wind and other environmental aspects that will affect hardware and image quality. IndigoVision has extended the range of its PTZ camera 9000 to deliver the reliable video surveillance needed under these conditions.

With high-quality images, low bandwidth and standard definition even in extremely low lighting conditions, the PTZ 9000 has been designed to withstand the inclemency of nature. Operators can monitor large areas and perform sweeps and approaches to see incidents as they occur, with exceptionally low latency ensuring precise camera control.

It is inevitable that the wind will affect the hanging mount cameras, in particular when zooming in on a scene. That's why, the new PTZ cameras 9000 include an image stabilizer and StableZoomTM technology to minimize the effects of motion and ensure events can be effectively monitored and recorded.

Two new optical zoom variants are offered:
• A 28x optical zoom (plus a 12x digital zoom) StableZoom, that favors the use of the camera during the day and night, with excellent performance in low light situations.
• A 36x optical zoom (plus a 12x digital zoom) StableZoom, which also offers functionality during the day and night, in addition to a wide dynamic range (Wdr) for low light situations and a progressive scan sensor for better video quality on PC monitors.

All PTZ dome cameras 9000 work seamlessly with SMS4, IndigoVision's security management solution, and are offered as hanging or recessed chambers in the ceiling (Standard, Environmental and Arctic), with a variety of mounting options to suit any position. IndigoVision guarantees full frame rate per second video on cameras, giving users the assurance that they won't lose evidence or coverage of an incident. Dual encoding allows simultaneous transmission of signals in both high and low bandwidth, and low latency ensures smooth control and faster response for operators.

Alex Swanson, Head of Engineering at IndigoVision, Reviewed: "IndigoVision's new expanded range of PTZ dome cameras will be ideal for the needs of many of our customers.. The cameras offer us a reliable solution and a set of options that adapt to any lighting or ambient condition".
