AMB has promoted the improvement of safety in the transport of passengers through the concessionary companies Tusgsal and Mohn. These companies awarded the project by public tender to the installation companies Etra and Deimos, que optaron por el avanzado sistema A5 IP CAR de A5 Security and IP cameras Axis Communications to strengthen surveillance on board vehicles.

Nitbus serves Barcelona and 17 more municipalities of the Metropolitan Area, running the 365 nights of the year with a frequency of passage of 20 Minutes. It currently has 17 lines in service, Touring 5,5 millions of kilometres per year, With 6 millions of travellers and 151 vehicles in disposal.

The implementation of the video surveillance system in the Nitbus Night Service enhances the safety and quality of the service through the most advanced technological means for the benefit of the users of the service. The video surveillance system allows the continuous capture of images of the interior of vehicles, transmission and recording, as well as its real-time visualization from a control center, if necessary.

Security and public transport

The aim of the A5 IP CAR system is to provide buses with a deterrent to illegal behaviour and to contribute to their prosecution in the event of their occurrence.. The main objective is to improve safety on board the vehicle, mediante la grabación de imágenes a bordo de alta definición y validez legal mediante protección con Firma Digital de alto nivel y la posibilidad de visualizar las imágenes de incidencias en tiempo real en el centro de control, as well as identify the type of incident and request the intervention of the corresponding security/emergency services.

Each bus integrates 4 Axis IP cameras: one at the entrance and three others covering the rest of the vehicle. Under normal conditions, the system records at all times and writes the images to a hard drive on board the bus. The A5 IP CAR system allows at all times real-time communication using 3G or GPRS technology between buses or garages with the control center without requiring DDNS servers, thanks to the innovative IPDV communications system (Volatile Dynamic IP). In case of any incident inside the vehicle, the driver generates the emergency so that the communication with the central is initiated. The equipment installed in the buses is formed by four Axis IP cameras, small dimensions, allowing them to be integrated into the bodywork.

Thanks to the A5 IP CAR system designed by A.5 Security, once the buses reach garages, automatically download the video files, and unloading does not increase the time that the bus has to be in garages since it is done at the same time that the vehicle is cleaned and the fuel is loaded. In addition, from the control center you can view the images at all times, whether live or downloaded, identifying the number of the bus on which the incident is occurring.

The system complies with the organic law on data protection (deleting images after 30 Days), the use of the images is exclusive to clarify incidents and their visualization is only carried out by the authorized personnel of the control centers.
