Axis presents new accessories that expand the possibilities of IP video

Axis Communications, company specialized in the network video market, has expanded its range of accessories that complement its network cameras and video encoders with the Axis T8604 media converter switch, the Axis T8129 PoE Extender, and the Axis T8640 Ethernet-over-coax PoE+ adapter.

Axis Communications has added to its catalog a series of accessories for its network video products that allow expanding the possibilities of digital video surveillance systems: the Axis T8604, a media converter switch that allows users to take advantage of the power of fiber optics; the Axis T8129, a PoE Extender that extends the reach of Ethernet cabling; and the Axis T8640, an Ethernet-over-coax PoE+ adapter, which helps protect cabling investments.

Axis T8604 Media Converter Switch
Especialmente diseñado para instalaciones con largas distancias como las que suele haber en sistemas de videovigilancia ciudadana o en aeropuertos, el switch convertidor de medios Axis T8604 es un dispositivo que convierte la señal Ethernet de manera que pueda ser utilizada a través de cable de fibra óptica. Incluye dos ranuras SPF de fibra y dos puertos RJ-45 para conectar dos dispositivos por unidad, incorpora también una pinza de montaje DIN y es compatible con todos los productos de vídeo IP de Axis.

Las conexiones de fibra óptica se usan habitualmente en instalaciones de videovigilancia en las que las tormentas eléctricas son una amenaza o se precisan cubrir grandes distancias. Durante la instalación los integradores pueden conectar monitores de instalación o sus ordenadores portátiles al Axis T8604 para labores de mantenimiento y control. El switch convertidor de medios Axis T8604 puede operar en un rango de temperaturas que va desde los -40ºC a los 75ºC.

Axis T8129 Power over Ethernet Extender
El ampliador de Power over Ethernet Axis T8129 permite que los datos de vídeo lleguen más allá de la distancia máxima recomendada por el estándar IEEE, 100 metros, para cableado de cobre de par trenzado (cable Ethernet Cat 5e/6). En ocasiones denominado repetidor, el Axis T8129 no precisa alimentación eléctrica y es compatible con los estándares IEEE 802.3af e IEEE 802.3at. Este dispositivo permite instalar cámaras a grandes distancias (más de un kilómetro) ya que es posible usar varias unidades en una misma línea de cableado.

Axis T8640 Ethernet over Coax Adapter PoE+
El adaptador PoE+ de Ethernet sobre Coaxial Axis T8129 representa otra opción que simplifica la transición del vídeo analógico al digital al permitir a los usuarios aprovechar instalaciones de cable coaxial existentes e incluir cámaras de vídeo IP para permitir almacenamiento basado en la red y el uso de software de gestión de vídeo.

Then the Axis T8641 is used to reconvert the signal and transmit it over Ethernet to the network switch. Thanks to its intuitive LED-based display, the Axis T8460 allows for easy installation by confirming the status of the network and power supply, without needing to access remote equipment to check the connections. The Axis T8460 model, for indoor use only, allows operation with cabling of more than 500 metros, depending on the type and quality of the coaxial cabling, as well as the specific camera model.
