Genetec adds audio communications to Security Center SaaS
This new functionality of Genetec introduces native voice and video capabilities into cloud-based security operations. Intercoms have been unified with access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection, achieving a platform that provides faster and more informed responses.
Genetec has incorporated functions of native cloud audio communications a Security Center SaaS. Based on more than a decade of experience in providing intercom and SIP-based audio solutions on its local platform, has included real-time voice capabilities in the same intuitive cloud-based interface that already unifies video, access control and intrusion monitoring.

Communications for Security Center SaaS can support from a few intercoms to thousands in large enterprises. Being a native cloud system and based on an open architecture, organizations can start small, test deployments with minimal investment and expand using the intercom devices that best suit their needs. At launch, the feature will be compatible with the intercom devices of Axis, and more providers are expected to be added in future versions.
The native integration of Axis intercoms in Security Center SaaS, created with Axis Cloud Connect, allows for enterprise-level communications without the complexity of standalone systems. Security teams can manage the intercoms from this manufacturer directly on the same platform they use for video surveillance, access control, event and action automation, forensic search or data analysis. This improves situational awareness and helps operators respond to incidents more effectively, explains Fredrik Nilsson, Vice President of Axis Communications Americas.
