Synology adds more scalability and data protection to its SA6400 unit
The new SA6400 twelve-bay drive from Synology Provides ultra-fast data transfer speeds and on-demand capacity expansion to enterprises and large studios.

The storage capacity of Synology SA6400 can be expanded by adding up to eight expansion units RX1223RP to enjoy a total of 108 drive bays, which means a space of 1,9 petabytes in a single system, that is to say, nine times more than the original capacity.
With a performance of sequential read/write of more than 6.500/4.000 MB/s, SA6400 unit ensures smooth operations, even in demanding environments such as enterprise data centers, large production studios and retail and hospitality sectors.
Broad support for file and locking protocols enables large-scale access to enterprise resources, via local network or VPN, with easy-access privilege management thanks to the integration of Active Directory/LDAP.
The cross-platform file management and sharing solution Synology Drive allows organizations to create a private cloud that teams can use to access, edit and share files securely, with detailed permissions configuration for optimal security and compliance.
Integration with the cloud, either Synology's own, C2 Storage, or from external service providers, Ensures efficient file synchronization between sites for distributed teams or companies adopting hub-spoke organizational models.
Data availability and protection
The sequel Active Backup for Synology endpoint protection allows you to backup Windows devices, Linux y macOS (soon); Hyper-V/VMware virtual machines and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace accounts on the SA6400 and quickly recover them when needed.
SA6400 also includes automation services, data backups and snapshots to protect shared folders, with destinations ranging from other Synology systems to the cloud for easy backup rule compliance 3-2-1.
Service availability can be improved with service Synology High Availability (SHA), pairing identical drives to create an active/passive cluster ensuring automatic service failover in minutes, in case of unexpected downtime.
Integrated business applications include a comprehensive set of productivity and file management tools that teams can leverage to increase collaboration, as well as a private email solution with full data ownership and a full-featured messaging platform for more convenient and secure communications.
