Local Police Malaga Telefonica 5G

In order to improve the efficiency of urban mobility management, Telephone has developed different security projects and services for the Malaga Police based on 5G technology.

Within the framework of the project Pilots 5G Andalusia of Red.es, Telephone has successfully executed eight of the twenty-three use cases, focused on exploring and identifying applications of 5G technology, in the city of Malaga.

Specifically,, the company has developed five different initiatives for the Malaga Police, whose purpose has been to promote the deployment of 5G networks, one of the axes of the Digital Spain 2025, with more efficient urban mobility management.

Local Police Malaga Telefonica 5GTwo of the use cases are related to video transmissions using 5G technology with the local police control center..

From the latter it is supervised, through the use of thirty fixed cameras distributed throughout the Andalusian city, urban mobility, which has now been improved with a mobile camera connected by 5G to the Telefónica network.

With this device, that can be located anywhere in the city, the control center can instantly receive the image of the area, facilitating the urban management tasks of the operations.

Moreover, from the police control center are displayed, uninterrupted 24×7, the images provided by the video surveillance cameras installed by the city, although it is necessary that the personnel in charge have to be there physically to be able to see them.

From now on, police officers will be able to connect by 5G from anywhere and at any time to view and control the cameras that are displayed in the control center. This allows the deployed police officers to simultaneously have the same audiovisual information as those present in the control center., which facilitates and improves the coordination of police forces.

Through the thirty fixed cameras and 5G mobiles deployed by Malaga, and thanks to the use of AI technology it is possible to control the occupation of public spaces in the city, counting automatically and in real time how many people occupy a specific space and how many are transiting through it without the need to mobilize any cash.

Finally,, Telefónica has deployed a private 5G network of voice and video communications so that police officers can communicate with each other, which is based on the latest standards MCX of 3GPP.

Police officers can use 5G mobiles to communicate with each other using the walkie talkie (push to talk) or establish communications between groups of users, but with the security guarantees of a private network of its own.
