Axis Q6135-LE

During your attendance at Smart City Expo World Congress 2021, Axis show the role of video surveillance in public and environmental safety, as well as in urban mobility.

Axis License Plate VerifierAfter last year's virtual event, Axis Communications is again present in Smart City Expo World Congress that will take place in the 16 To 18 November. In this meeting, which this year will celebrate its tenth anniversary, will showcase a series of products and solutions that place video surveillance at the centre of the key objectives of smart cities, with a particular focus on public safety, urban mobility and environmental monitoring.

Recognizing the importance of compilation, data storage and analysis in connected urban environments, Axis will exhibit together with Microsoft in the Pavilion 2, Level 0, D Street, Stand 152 of Fira Barcelona.

Among the solutions that the company will exhibit are panoramic cameras based on the recently announced system-on-a-chip Artpec-8, with built-in edge analytics enabled for deep learning. You will also be able to see their surveillance cameras that are already being used by smart cities around the world., including box type, those of horizontal movement, vertical and zoom (Ptz) and the solution Axis Body Worn Camera.

Axis Recapping 2021Another solution that will be present is Acap 4, the company's camera application platform that will allow developers to create computer vision applications for their platform.

Attendees at the show will be able to see how technologies such as the Axis Vapix application platform interface and the IoT messaging protocol MQTT are enabling connections between data sensors to make the smart city vision a reality. Or how concepts like digital twins and smart poles are enabling smart cities to collect and use data as an accelerator to achieve their goals..

Genetec and Microsoft

Along with Axis will also be exposed the video management software of Genetec and the integration between the solutions of both companies will be highlighted.

With Microsoft will present the power of the latest technology of network cameras with deep learning, combined with the cloud platform Azure.

“The combination of Axis Camera Application Platform (Acap) and Microsoft Azure enable more power and scalability from the edge to the cloud: a hybrid development platform for our ecosystem partners and integrators to build enterprise-ready AI solutions.", comments Andrea Sorri, Director of Emea Smart Cities Segment Development at Axis.

Axis Solutions for Smart City

Axis panoramica

Axis solutions for cities focus on three key areas to improve the quality of life of citizens, aligning with the objectives of the city and, through them, with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

  • Public safety: maintaining the safety of citizens is fundamental for any modern and progressive city. Video surveillance and network audio are used to support law enforcement and other immediate response teams, provide direct help and instructions to citizens in emergency situations, as well as crowd management, in accordance with public health and safety guidelines.
  • Urban mobility: allowing citizens to move freely and easily around a city is critical to the sense of livability and economic growth.. Axis solutions support, through traffic management, automatic incident response, license plate recognition, parking management, intersection control and maintenance planning.
  • Environmental control: even in the face of rapid growth, every progressive city will want to reduce its overall environmental impact and create a more positive environment for citizens. In combination with other sensors, such as those that measure air and water quality and noise pollution, video surveillance cameras can identify the sources of problems, allowing for corrective action and proactive planning.
