Optex Smart Line helps protect UK rural properties

Designed for outdoor use, these infrared barriers marketed in Spain by ProdexTec have been deployed on farms and agricultural areas to reduce theft.

The incidents of theft on farms and rural properties in the United Kingdom, specifically of tools, fuel, and vehicles, have increased and represent losses of over 42 millions of British pounds annually affecting farmers across the country.

One of the solutions being adopted to prevent these incidents are the infrared barriers from the manufacturer Optex, whose products are distributed in the Spanish market ProdexTec; specifically the Smart Line series systems.

These barriers, con protección IP65y una cubierta antiescarcha que permiten su instalación en exteriores para soportar condiciones climáticas hostiles, cuentan con cuatro haces (que reducen considerablemente las falsas alarmas) e igual número de canales de frecuencia, with a maximum range of 200 metros, parasu montaje en columnasde infrarrojos, postes o paredes.

Dentro de esta línea, Optex cuenta con dos modelos: la serie cableada, que ofrece detección desde 60 until 200 metros y cuenta con cuatro haces, y la serie inalámbrica, con versiones de 2 haces y alcances de 30 y 60 metros, y la de cuatro haces, with up to 100 metros de detección y la ventaja de requerir de obra civil para llevar cables de alimentación al transmisor inalámbrico ni al receptor (Serie SL-TNR), ya que la batería alimenta ambos.

Optex's Smart Line columns provided the farmer with a very reliable intruder detection solution, as they allow monitoring of what happens on the farm regardless of the time or the location of the owner, with the advantage of an easy setup to ignore the local fauna and flora and avoid triggering false alarms.
