The access control system, based on RFID, from HID protects access to the laboratories of the Institute of Dynamic Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences , while the ProxPro cards respond to the environmental challenges posed.

The Institute of Dynamic Physics (Institute of High Energy Physics -IHEP), integrated into the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Academy of Sciences -CAS), is a center that focuses its research on advanced accelerator technologies, nuclear medical instrumentation, industrial automation, precision machinery…

Their research and developments led them to seek an advanced access control system that would provide greater security, since access to the restricted areas of the laboratory was being managed manually. To enter it was necessary to use a key stored in a central control unit and then return it to its location.

The lack of a sophisticated security procedure generated a great risk, due to potential exposure to radiation and the possibility that someone remained inside the laboratory.

This concern for safety is what led IHEP to look for an automated system that would provide them with greater protection. The company Beijing Access Control Technology was responsible for developing an advanced security system that includes RFID access control technology HID, integrada con una solución implementada en red, software personalizado, vigilancia por circuito cerrado y un sistema de detección/prevención de incendios.

“La comodidad, seguridad y automatización de procesos eran consideraciones fundamentales para nosotros cuando seleccionamos los productos de HID ya que sabíamos que sus soluciones daban respuestas a las necesidades del IHEP”, comenta Li Tie Hui del Centro de control de aceleración (The Accelerating Control Center) de China.

El acceso manual de cada puerta del laboratorio ahora se acompaña de un lector HID que incluye sonido y una pantalla LCD independiente. Este lector muestra un número de identificación que proporciona al sistema un alto nivel de seguridad e indica la identidad de persona que quiere acceder a la instalación, la hora del día y el número de personas que permanecen en el área restringida del laboratorio y/o salen de él, mostrando sus nombres en la pantalla LCD.

Una vez que se ha completado la confirmación de salida, que se refleja en el lector con un parpadeo de ‘confirmación de salida’, el nombre de la persona desaparece de la pantalla.

La tecnología de control de accesos de HID gestiona la entrada al laboratorio prohibiendo el paso mientras el laboratorio está operativo. Besides, HID's ProxPro cards have been modified to address possible radioactive energy fluctuations around the laboratory, offering a reliable solution for the environmental challenges posed by the Institute of Dynamic Physics.
