Fonti di Vinadio has implemented a video surveillance system, based on Sony V-series cameras, in your bottling plant to supervise the facilities and ensure control of the production system.

Sony security in Acqua Sant Anna

The Italian company Fonti di Vinadio, that bottles and sells sant'anna mineral water, was founded in 1996. The water that flows from the springs at an altitude of up to 1950 meters is channeled through 400 km of stainless steel pipes to the plant, where it is collected in 11 stainless steel tanks with a capacity of up to one million liters of water each. This is the starting point of the production line, in which the water is bottled immediately in order to preserve its organoleptic properties.

Over the past three years, the company has focused much of its efforts on diversification, adding the production of iced tea and fruit nectars to that of mineral water. This is why the company is planning the reorganization of the plant and the incorporation of new production lines.

The plant is highly automated, with automated laser-guided systems that take care of all the movement of goods, from storage to storage.

Plant safety and control

Sony security in Acqua Sant AnnaFaced with this situation, Vinadio needed to implement a video surveillance system that would allow to monitor the facilities and ensure a precise and effective control of the entire production system.

For this project, Vinadio chose the V-series IP network cameras of Sony. Specifically, the SNC-VB600 models have been installed, a fixed-type camera, and the SNC-VM602R, a mini-dome solution of vandal-resistant design resistant to inclement weather with infrared illuminators (Go) Integrated.

The project, managed by Gruppo Sintesi, already has 20 installed cameras and forecasts is expanding the base in 10 Or 15 more cameras in the coming months.

Sony SNC-VB600Sony SNC-VB600 and SNC-VM602R cameras deliver 720p/60fps HD images with high quality and maximum resolution of 1280 X 1024 pixels. Sony's exclusive Exmor CMOS sensor enhances the image, even in dark environments, thanks to its low noise features. Both models incorporate the Ipela Engine EX signal processing system developed by Sony to acquire, analyze and act on clearer and sharper HD images in the most demanding environments.

The real day/night function of these cameras ensures the continuity of video footage, since the camera automatically switches between day mode (Color) and night mode (black and white) according to light levels, which guarantees the optimization of images in any lighting condition. View-DR technology combines captured images with different shutter speeds to deliver a wide dynamic range of up to 130 Db (for 720p HD).

IR and View-DR determinant functions

Sony SNC-VM602RSony network cameras offer high visibility even in unsyeous lighting conditions, like darkness or an intense backlight. Have met plant supervision requirements, not just for security purposes, but also for the control of the entire production process in order to maintain the quality of the product.

The flow of water from the spring to the Vinadio plant is uninterrupted, there are never pauses in the production cycle and water from the Sant'Anna spring reaches the tables of consumers in 48 Hours.

One of the highlights of the Sony cameras that contributed to his choice was that they had infrared illuminators (Go) Integrated, that guarantee capture and excellent visibility at a distance of up to 30 camera meters, even in the most absolute darkness.

Another important factor in the decision was view-DR technology, that allows the camera to capture images in a clear and adaptable way, even in conditions of strong backlight. This allows to offer a great visibility of the areas of high contrast, as with doors when loading and unloading merchandise.
