Wireless video surveillance 2011-2017 (Source: IHS Research)According to an IHS Research study, the global market for wireless infrastructure equipment used in video surveillance applications could reach 705 millones de dólares en 2017.

Josh Woodhouse, IHS video surveillance analyst, ha asegurado que “as a relatively cheap solution compared to cable, wireless infrastructure offers a low-cost option for those who want to set up surveillance networks. In regions with widespread video surveillance infrastructure such as in the U.S.. or the U.K., the adoption of wireless infrastructures for video surveillance is steadily increasing. However, the new regions that do not have infrastructure, they will also see the wireless video market grow strongly in the coming years”.

The global infrastructure for wireless video surveillance will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the 17% from 2011 a 2017. El crecimiento mundial estará liderado por China, with an impressive rate of 28,8% during this period. The second region with the most momentum in this area will be the rest of Asia, including India, which will grow by a 27,9%. Mexico will increase its wireless networks by a 23,1%, while Brazil will do so by a 17,4%. The rest of South America will grow by a 26,6%.

The Asian market is now the smallest and least developed region in terms of wireless video surveillance infrastructures. However, Asia is expected to grow faster than the rest of the world in the coming years, gracias a la falta de infraestructura de vigilancia, junto con el bajo costo del sistema inalámbrico y la creciente demanda de seguridad.

Para IMS Research, Cisco Systems fue el proveedor líder de equipos de infraestructura inalámbrica que se utiliza para la videovigilancia en el año 2012, with a market share in the 11,7% de los ingresos en el mercado mundial.
