The open-platform IP video management software provider (VMS), Milestone Systems, has created a new business unit, Professional Products, with the objective of developing new IP video software products and services for SMEs, which will be led by Janne Jakobsen.
Milestone Systems, the open-platform IP video management software company (VMS), continues to achieve growth in the networked surveillance solutions market. The management team has created an organizational target focused on the high-volume sector and small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) creating a new business unit called Professional Products. Janne Jakobsen has been hired as vice president to launch this division. She previously led the user experience department at Bang & Olufsen, as well as being responsible for Nokia's smartphone portfolio business in Europe.
John Blem, product manager and founder of Milestone Systems, ha declarado: “Milestone's strategic plans include continuing to guide our software and marketing to fit the needs of customers and partners in various segments. We are especially pleased to have Janne on board with her experience in business and product management at Bang & Olufsen and with her leadership of large international departments at Nokia. Janne possesses the right combination of passion, experience, business and user perspective that will make Milestone even better in meeting demand”.
For your part, Janne Jakobsen has commented: “Milestone Systems is a very ambitious and exciting company, with rapid growth. I will do my part to make our products in the small and medium business field even more attractive – not only with the best products, but also with the right marketing, channel model and collaborations with our partners”.
Janne Jakobsen has been responsible for determining the user interface in some of Nokia's main product models, and this user perspective will have positive applications for Milestone's offerings: “Milestone is already moving full speed ahead to evolve towards ease of use and functionality. Customers demand minimal complexity, both at the product level and in terms of installation and maintenance. That is why we are taking into account the upcoming versions of our software, where the user interface will be adjusted to fit the requirements of different target groups – it is the visual impression that affects the way the user thinks about how our products are”, added Jakobsen.
