The Sony Professional NSR-1000 series integrates analog and digital network cameras into a single-server platform

Sony Professional has showcased its new NSR-1000 range at the IFSEC security fair 2009. Sony's hybrid network surveillance servers are now on sale in Europe. Based on the latest generation of hybrid technology, It is a flexible platform that allows the servers to record and integrate a wide range of camera formats, from modern IP and Megapixel cameras to more traditional analog cameras.

Not only is the performance improvement impressive, but servers are the only products on the market that allow the combined use of IP and analog cameras. Companies can continue using their existing analog cameras and integrate with IP technology, contributing to a seamless transition from an analog system to IP.

The smallest server, the NSR-1050H model, supports up to twenty cameras and can process video data from up to 16 analog cameras using an Analog Encoding Card (NSBK-A16).

The mid-range NSR-1100 model can process data from up to 32 cameras and store up to 1000 GB, while the large NSR-1200 servers can work with up to 64 IP video cameras and up to 2000 GB. An open architecture enables, considerably, that servers process data from cameras of other manufacturers.

Fundamentally, the use of 2 HDMI interfaces, in addition to 2 traditional RGB interfaces, allow servers to record high-resolution images, including JPEG and MPEG4 data formats to provide real-time high-resolution videos. This helps to evaluate information about illegal activities as well as improve sharpness and contrast since two of the four interfaces can be used simultaneously in any combination.
