Hikvision elige Cantabria para su centro de innovación en el norte de España

Located in the Scientific and Technological Park (PCTCAN) of Cantabria, Hikvision has presented what will be 'an innovation hub' and a nerve center for the development of new solutions and the exhibition of its latest advances in AI combined with IoT.

The president of Cantabria, María José Sáenz de Buruaga, and the president of Hikvision Iberia, Ethan Qu, have been the protagonists of this announcement, with the visit to the facilities of the Torre Xtela of the Scientific and Technological Park (PCTCAN), where the Chinese multinational will install its reference center for northern Spain.

With the aim of becoming 'an innovation hub', que servirá también como centro neurálgico para el desarrollo de nuevas soluciones y la exposición de los últimos sistemas de Hikvision en AIoT, Ethan Qu ha firmado el contrato de arrendamiento de una planta completa de la Torre Xtela con el consejero de Industria, Empleo, Innovación y Comercio, Eduardo Arasti.

La multinacional china, with more than 58.000 trabajadores, superando los 100.000 clientes y las 10.000 patentes, será una de las empresas que empezará a llenar esta infraestructura empresarial, situada junto al Instituto de Hidráulica, después de más de diez años vacía, lo que “supone un importantísimo punto de inflexión”, como ha subrayado Sáenz de Buruaga.

Ethan Qu ha destacado también que “estamos profundamente comprometidos con la innovación y en colaborar estrechamente con empresas locales y entidades públicas”, y que este proyecto “contribuirá al crecimiento económico y tecnológico de toda Cantabria”.

El nuevo centro de referencia de Hikvision contará inicialmente con cinco puestos de trabajo senior, con la idea de llegar a veinte en cinco años, and it will occupy an entire floor, of 380,96 m2, in the XTela Tower, in addition to including an exhibition space, of 150 m2, with the latest innovations of the company in AIoT.
