La Palma trusts in Hikvision technology for emergency management

As part of the project La Palma Smart Island from this Canary Islands territory, Hikvision has provided high-precision thermal cameras to support the fight against fires, along with devices for emergency management and traffic control.

The experience in security technology and AIoT services of Hikvision has been highlighted in the project La Palma Smart Island, initiative of the Island Council of this Canary Island for more efficient management of resources, services and infrastructures with which spaces of interaction are created between citizens, companies and administrations.

Specifically, Hikvision has provided its most precise technology and support for the active monitoring of forest fires, as well as any other type of incident that could occur within the limits of the insular territory of La Palma.

The orography of this island, its vegetation or phenomena such as the spectacular 'sea of clouds' add special difficulties in measuring the temperature, definition and placement of the devices necessary for the detection of emergency situations.

All of this has forced the inclusion of technology that adapts to the specific needs of the island - also in aspects such as the gestión de tráfico, with a cutting-edge technological solution that covers even the trails-, that can be integrated, in addition to combining infrared vision with natural vision in a synchronized way.

La tecnología aportada por Hikvision consta de una cámara con capacidad óptica y térmica que incorpora un nodo IoT que integra una solución de control, almacenamiento de datos y generación de reglas de forma local. From the sequence of captured images, the entire area monitored by the camera is reconstructed, both for nearby areas and for deeper ones. The integration of Hikvision solutions with the company's software Inmótica Integral allows obtaining different sequences based on height, as well as maximum definition for each of those frames.

La ejecución del proyecto tiene un plazo de dos años y va más allá de la implantación y puesta en marcha del hardware, que permitirá empezar a visualizar, analizar y tener en los cuadros de mando toda la información que facilite la toma de decisiones.
