AxxonSoft Face Intellect 8.0

AxxonSoft has released a new update to its Face Intellect facial recognition module that operates as part of the PSIM Intellect software platform. The version 8.0 introduces features that help implement measures to reduce the spread of infections, updates versions of facial recognition engines and improves the user interface.

IP cameras to measure body temperature combine two channels: thermal (Infrared) and standard. The face detector that works on the standard channel identifies the coordinates of the faces in the frame, that are used by the thermographic algorithm to determine their temperature from the thermal image. Both video streams are streamed to Intellect.

Temperature values can be displayed both in real time and when watching video recording.

Face Intellect receives the image of a face and the temperature of the camera, and the temperature value is recorded in the database of captured faces along with sex, age, hair color and other recognized features in the image.

In this release, a temperature filter has been added to the face search interface, that allows you to display a list of these with a specific range.

You can set the temperature threshold value and an automatic response to its overcoming, For example, alerting the operator. Integration with access control systems allows people with high body temperature to be automatically restricted.

Face Intellect recognizes the presence or absence of a mask on a face (when using engines that support this feature). The presence/absence parameter of a mask is recorded in the database when capturing a face, allowing you to see the list of faces captured with or without masks.

An auto-response scenario can be set up in relation to the presence/absence event of a mask. For example, using an integrated access control system, can restrict access for people without masks to facilities where the use of the mask is a mandatory sanitary measure.

Search for contacts

Face Intellect allows you to find people who have been in contact with the selected person, I mean, captured in the FoV of the cameras at the same time. This feature can be used to detect a person's contacts with a confirmed coronavirus infection or in investigating illegal actions to look for people who have come into contact with a suspect.

To search for contacts, it first starts a standard search for faces similar to the selected image and then, for every match found, an automatic search is performed for faces that have entered the framing within a specific time before and after the moment of recognition of the original face.

Interface improvements

Filters for facial features have been unified across all tabs of the search and facial recognition interface. You can show all or only recognized faces / unrecognized and filter them by all available features: Gender, minimum and maximum age, temperature range, mask presence, Glasses, moustache and beard, emotion and other parameters. When you export a face to a file, all its recognized features are also exported.

Working with the reference face database, it is now possible to filter faces by multiple fields simultaneously, particularly name, surname, patronymic and commentary. In the facial search and recognition interface, those belonging to the selected departments can now be highlighted, and the color and text of the alert window title can now be customized.

Updating recognition engines

Tevian SDK has been updated to the version 2.12.1. Improved accuracy and performance; Added types of masks. Multiple versions of tevian SDKs can now be installed on the Face Intellect system at the same time. The version used is selected in the settings; switching between versions, databases with biometric reference characteristics and captured faces are automatically recreated.

VisionLabs SDK has been updated to the version 4.2.0. Added recognition of additional facial features.

The Tevian and VisionLabs SDKs are now GPU-enabled, providing a dramatic improvement in facial recognition server performance.

STC SDK has been updated to the version 4.6.1. New profiles have been added that set the speed and accuracy of recognition.
