The manufacturer's new enterprise hard drives are qualified for Microchip Technology's Adaptec HBA and RAID adapters, providing a stable storage system to respond to an ever-growing volume of data.

blankThe manufacturer Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced that the MG08 series has passed compatibility tests Microchip Technology, of the 3.5" hard drive and business capacity of 16 Tb, on all Adaptec bus host adapters (Hba) and redundant array of independent disk adapters (raid).

As a result,, companies that use adaptec smart storage adapters can now also install the enterprise capacity drives of 16 TB de Toshiba Electronics.

Enterprise hard drives typically operate on large storage networks and connect to the host server system via HBA or RAID adapters. The interaction of hard drives and HBA/RAID adapters is critical to ensuring the functionality and stability of enterprise and cloud storage systems.

MG08 Series Compatibility Confirmation Refers to SATA MG08ACA16TE Models (blocks of 512 Bytes) and MG08SCA16TA (4K:i). Testing has been carried out with the Adaptec HBA series HBA adapters 1100 and with Adaptec SmartRAID serial RAID adapters 3100, as well as with its predecessor, Adaptec Serial RAID 8 that are still used.

testing has not only tested the basic functionality and compatibility of the interfaces, but hot-plug tests have also been performed, power on and restart. Long-term stability has also been confirmed by a specific long-term test performed by Microchip Technology.

Rainer Kaese, senior head of storage product business development at Toshiba Electronics Europe, has pointed out that "thanks to the excellent long-term cooperation with Microchip we have been able to qualify the compatibility of this new generation of HDD with its adapters. This step is a very important contribution to the implementation of stable storage systems that respond to constantly growing volumes of data".

Toshiba's previous Entrepreneurship HDD series (MG04 / MG05 / MG06 / MG07) were also tested and rated by Microchip Technology in the same manner described above, and which also applies to AL12 series business performance units / AL13 / AL14 and AL15.
