EETC – My Cable Car is a system of collective air transport by cable that connects different points of the cities of La Paz and El Alto in Bolivia. Scati was the manufacturer selected by EETC for the implementation of a video surveillance solution, whose system aimed to offer coverage through cameras installed in different control points of this transport network composed of 23 Stations.

The complexity of the project lay in reusing what it had already installed so as not to lose the investment already made. formerly, in a first phase they had been installed in 11 Stations, spread across the Red Line, Yellow and Green, 283 cameras from third-party manufacturers, specifically Dahua And Vivotek, for which Scati had to provide compatibility.

An example was the installation of a CCTV system in the stations currently operational, prioritizing passage areas such as pinwheels, ticketing lockers, platforms and accesses to each station.

In total, more than a thousand smart cameras are managed that offer great image quality and with audio and video recording capacity from the Control and Monitoization Center, where the entire cable infrastructure is monitored and notices are received, in real time, for later visual verification.

In addition to a ticket management system integrated into the CCTV system, able to reduce administrative costs due to fraud.

This ambitious security project is managed from a Control and Monitoring Center (opened in April 2017) where they are located 22 operators organized in three distinct environments (operations, Complementary Systems and Police), that work together to guarantee the citizen security of users and the own systems of the Cable Car through three videowalls.

Adhered to it, there is another smaller control center called the Complementary Systems Control Center in which two operators manage customer service and social networks thanks to six professional monitors.

The Control and Monitoring Center is one of the most advanced centers in Latin America in the monitoring and control of operations in public transport systems. It is capable of receiving real-time alerts from video analytics from cameras, facilitating the operator the management of the cameras monitoring the exact moment that an event occurs.

The system, In addition, incorporates Business Intelligence tools to improve the standards of citizen security in the stations and expand the quality service indicators of that company.

Currently, it is being analyzed to incorporate into the infrastructure the live visualization of the 1800 IP cameras that are being deployed in the cabins and towers of each line.
