These NAS offer scalable storage capacity with affordable TCO, while providing versatile software applications that make them ideal for use as file servers or as a centralized point for backup.

Synology RackStation RS2418+ and RS2418RP+

Synology introduced RackStation RS2418+ and RS2418RP+ servers, 2U rackmount NAS and 12 bays that provide easy-to-scale storage capacity at total cost of ownership (Tco) affordable for small and medium-sized businesses.

RS2418+ and RS2418RP+ support up to 144 TB of raw capacity in a single 2U chassis, being expandable up to 288 TB if connected to the RX1217 and RX1217RP expansion unit, providing you with an extension of capacity on the fly.

“RS2418+ and RS2418RP+ servers target small and medium-sized businesses and are designed to solve common IT challenges such as tight budgets, the increase in the volume of data that is generated quickly and the limitation of system administrators”, explains Jason Fan, product manager on Synology.

These servers offer scalable storage capacity with affordable TCO, while providing versatile software applications that make them ideal for use as file servers, centralized point for backup or as a hub-and-spoke backup target for distribution businesses.

RackStation RS2418+ and RS2418RP+ servers are powered by a quad-core Intel Atom C3538 CPU and 4 GB of NON-ECC DDR4 UDIMM RAM, expandable up to 64 GB with four ECC UDIMMs of 16 Gb. The four plug-and-play Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports come by default and can be extended with NIC of 10 Higher performance GbE, through PCIe slots 3.0, providing sequential performance of more than 1.400 MBps and 38.0900 iSCSI random IOPS.

M.2 SSD expansion cards can also be placed in PCIe slots, which allows to significantly increase the performance through the SSD cache, ideal if the use is as database storage, file server for multiple users or video editing.

RS2418+ and RS2418RP+ servers run with DiskStation Manager, Synology's intuitive operating system for NAS devices, that has different applications that improve productivity at work.
