Synology has introduced the RackStation RS818+ and RS818RP+ servers, and the RX418 expansion unit, 1U rackmount NAS devices with 4 Purpose-built bays to deliver high transmission performance and scalability to SMBs.

The RS818+ and RS818RP+ feature a 2.4GHz quad-core processor, AES-NI encryption engine, 2 GB ddr3 memory (Expandable to 16 Dual-channel GB) and a PCIe slot 2.0 to insert an optional network card from 10 Gbe. This hardware provides a read speed that exceeds 1.099 MB/sg, making both devices the ideal centralized storage option for multi-client data transmissions.

The storage capacity of RS818+ and RS818RP+ servers can also be expanded thanks to Synology's RX418 expansion unit, which provides up to a total of 8 Bays, and facilitates high flexibility in data management and backups. They incorporate four LAN ports 1 GbE that support Link Aggregation and failover.
