Pelco by Schneider Electric and Fortem Software have collaborated to develop a unique tool to make the design and management of 3D video surveillance systems a reality. Pelco 3D significantly reduces times, optimizes the design costs of new video surveillance facilities and allows to adapt to the specific needs of each client thanks to its customization capacity.

Pelco 3D

Schneider Electric has released Pelco 3D, the first software in the sector that allows to design in three dimensions complete video surveillance systems. The tool, which can be downloaded for free on the website of Pelco by Schneider Electric, significantly reduces the costs of new installations by making it easier to choose the most appropriate combination of camcorders. For Pelco 3D design, the company has had the collaboration of Fortem Software, company dedicated to the development of advanced generation software aimed at innovating public and private security standards, and who has worked, among others, for Google, Adobe and the Canadian Space Agency.

Esteban García Montoro, Schneider Electric Safety Product Manager, has highlighted: "We are proud to be the first to have this tool and to be able to offer it to our customers., totally free of charge. With Pelco 3D we put at your disposal a powerful tool that will allow you to design your video surveillance facilities in a much faster and more efficient way, since thanks to this new software we will be able to know where to locate the cameras and which areas will be left as blind spots. Like this, we can determine if we need to change the current selection of cameras or if, on the contrary, the selection is correct ".

Pelco 3D

The software, which is compatible with all Pelco cameras, imports a 2D map of the facility to generate a 3D prototype in which designers and integrators can test the different camera options, lenses and placements. With object-based pixel calculator and preview functions, personalized coverage is achieved and the cost of installation is optimized by being able to select the right combination for each client.

Among the highlights of Pelco 3D by Schneider Electric are viewing angles, with immediate 3D images that examine the proper functioning of design requirements; and the invoice of material that the salesperson can print after choosing the types of camera and the lenses, and that includes availability data in Pelco. In addition, to control the system, the tool creates a simple and complete report that includes data about lenses and cameras: your situation within the 3D map, its height, their field of vision and the three points of view with which they work (chopped, bird's eye view, camera view).
