Synology has introduced DiskStation DS713+, a dual-bay NAS server that offers SMBs a high-performance data management solution. According to Darren Lin, Synology product manager, "when the amount of data grows exponentially, businesses struggle to keep up with changing storage needs. DS713+ addresses the challenge by allowing users to rapidly expand capacity up to 28 TB with Synology Expansion Units".

The DS713+ outperforms its predecessor with better performance for a dual-core processor 2,13 Ghz. Under a RAID configuration 1 in a Windows environment with link aggregation, offers an average read and write speed of 202,3 MB/sec and 135,84 MB/sec respectively. In addition, the DS713+ is optimized for high-quality video surveillance footage, and supports up to 20 simultaneous HIGH definition recording channels with IP camera.

The DS713+ is equipped with two USB ports 3.0 that offer a file transfer rate 10 times faster than USB 2.0. To ensure high availability of company files, DS713+ offers front mounting of hot-swappable disks with Gigabit Ethernet ports for failover protection that reduces vulnerabilities from unexpected service downtime.

With extensive iSCSI support, the DS713+ can integrate seamlessly with most virtualization solutions, including VMware vSphere 5 VAAI, Citrix XenServer and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V. In addition, easily fits into enterprise environments with LDAP media, Windows AD and ACL. The DS713+ works with DiskStation Manager 4.1 (Dsm 4.1), the operating system of each Synology DiskStation and RackStation.
