The Taiwanese manufacturer of NAS storage products for consumers, SMEs and businesses, QNAP Systems, has confirmed that its TurboNAS series of equipment is compatible with the newly released 4TB Hitachi hard drive, the Hitachi Deskstar 7K4000.

blankQNAP has announced that the models of its Turbo NAS line now also support the new high-capacity 4TB hard drives and 3,5 inches from the Hitachi Deskstar range. Launched at the end of last year, the Hitachi Deskstar 7K4000 is one of the first 4TB hard drives on the market. With the standard 3.5” format and a SATA III interface 6.0 Gbps, it features a 64Mb cache and a rotation speed of 7200rpm, thus allowing a transfer rate of 1638 Mb/s.
