The reliability and security of the recorded videos have been the main reasons why Santander chose the NVR VioStor Pro solution 2012 the QNAP. Operators needed a way to quickly access the video. The smart search function of the QNAP NVR VioStor Pro 2012 makes it easy to find images from months of recordings.

Jose Palacio, from the consulting firm Gabasip, stated that ‘the fact that it supports the main brands of network cameras makes QNAP NVRs one of the most open storage platforms available’”. Seven network cameras and a Samsung dome have been installed on different streetlights in Santander. The Ubiquiti wireless transmission sends the video to the QNAP VioStor Pro 2012, guaranteeing that operators don't miss anything.

The IP video solution has resulted in saving time and money. “Video management has improved by 60 percent the handling”, Palacio has stated about the QNAP solution, which requires 10% less maintenance, which increases operational efficiency. Santander's department plans to add more cameras and storage in the future, so QNAP has provided them with a scalable solution prepared for future expansion.
