FacePhi at Valencia CF

The biometric access system of FacePhi will allow subscribers to register with a selfie and a photo to their ID, subsequently identifying using facial recognition.

FacePhi will implement a biometric access system in the stadium of Valencia CF. With this solution it will be possible to verify the identity of the subscribers at the entrance to the coliseum with facial recognition technology, improving your experience and speeding up the passage to the stands.

The subscriber will register in the Valencia CF app, through an onboarding process for which a selfie and a photo of the national identity card will be required, that will confirm the identity of the user.

Done this process, the owner of the season ticket will be able to access the interior of the stadium by approaching the enabled readers of the entrance area. You only have to open the app to identify yourself by facial recognition with a selfie and show the QR code generated by the app.

"Valencia CF has given us a great opportunity to demonstrate the usefulness of biometric technology at the entrance to large stadiums, where it is common for thousands of people to concentrate, and both security and speed of access control are key factors", explains Javier Mira, CEO of FacePhi.

VCF Innovation Hub

The birth of this project has been possible thanks to the 'VCF Innovation Hub', the platform launched by the Valencian club, together with the startup Valencia, to support emerging talent, detect trends, improve the fan experience, anticipate future needs and continue to grow around innovation and technology.

This initiative, that emerges as a bet on the future, has closed its second edition with more than 70 Candidacies, of which 22 Companies, differentiated into four categories (academy, medicine, Smart Stadium and Fan Engagement), were selected to present their project to the jury.

FacePhi, who participated in the Fan Engagement category, and focused on getting the best possible experience for the fan, has been the winner among the 22 finalist companies.

"Football is pure emotion, and the experience in the stadium is irreplaceable, but modern clubs must try to take care of their fans in many other details, starting with the accessibility of their digital spaces and the facilities when using their tickets", says the CEO of FacePhi.

The collaboration with the Mestalla team is the first FacePhi project for a sports club, after having consolidated its presence among major banks, financial groups and hospitals
